Campbell Construction Co faced challenges with their current SAS CRM system, which lacked API connectivity and had limited reporting capabilities. The company needed an advanced data reporting solution to enhance visibility and gain valuable insights into their operations.

solution:

lets get into the finer detail.

The SAS CRM system allowed for scheduled data exports via email. To leverage this functionality, a shared mailbox was created to receive these emails with the data exports attached. Power Automate was deployed to process the incoming emails, cleanse the data, and automatically deliver it into a Power BI dataset.

The data was then visualized through Power BI dashboards and reports, which were seamlessly integrated into Microsoft Teams. This provided the team with near real-time results, enabling enhanced project visibility and actionable insights.

Campbell Construction Co successfully implemented a streamlined solution to overcome their reporting frustrations. With Power Assist's guidance, they designed and integrated a robust Power Platform workflow that delivered a live data pipeline.

The fully customized reporting suite within Microsoft Teams eliminated the need for manual data aggregation and updates, saving significant time and effort. By consolidating data into a single reporting platform, the company improved project visibility and gained valuable insights into project progress, ultimately boosting efficiency and decision-making.

Once the initial solution was successfully implemented, the project was extended to include data from additional SAS software, such as Xero. By integrating Xero’s financial data, the reporting capabilities were significantly enhanced, allowing for a more holistic view of the company’s operations. The combined datasets provided deeper insights into project budgets, expenses, and financial performance, enabling the team to track profitability and make data-driven financial decisions.
